After my recent camel hunt, I only brought back the top half of my 'Old Boys' skull. I had to rope it under the tray of the ute to get it home and boil it up. ![]() A shoulder mount would take up considerable space and I'm not sure one has been done here in Oz. ![]() The brain cavity reaches from the eye socket to the very rear of the skull. Apart from the Australian Bowhunters Association (ABA) I could find no organisation that accepted Camel measurements as a trophy. The ABA use a modified Douglas score. I measure from rear to front of the skull (in a straight line), the width at the widest point and the width of the canines. This is measured in inches and round up to the nearest 1/8". I got 32" which if I had shot it with a bow, would have made number 4 here in Oz. Thx to Blacks for helping me score this skull. |
