A week-and-a-half after laying the bait, we snuck-in to find a good lump of a boar on the donkey carcass. Nick made a good stalk to about sixty or seventy metres, and made a perfect one-shot kill that broke both shoulders and punched a hole through the heart. The boar dropped instantly. As I've said before, while we do have some pigs around Katherine, they are heavily targeted and quite ghostly, and to take a boar like this is quite special.

This is the first good boar for the Ruger No.1 in .300H&H, and the bullet used was a 180 grain Woodleigh PPSN.
