It is possible to happens more often but the ducklings are killed off for some reason? cold or frosts? Therefore natural selection to maintain the "hatching season"? Deer fawns for example do not usually survive. So does or hinds from late birthing mothers rarely survive to adulthood. BUT this year is a strange one. We were only talking about it today that the vines look like they will loose their leaves very late in Autumn. Will see what happens. Must be all the moisture from global warming (ie predictions of drought), and carbon keeping things green (I thought there were predictions of desertification)? Ha ha. |
