G'Day Fella's, A bit over twelve months ago, I was offered a position as a Fitter & Machinist (etc), at the main university (ANU), here in Canberra. For those of you that don't know the place, it is a Ten Minute walk from the CBD of Canberra. As a hunter I just love working in this place because of the amount of wild life (Ducks and Rabbits mainly), that abounds on campus, not to mention the good lookin young women!!! Anyway, there are hundreds of Wood Ducks here and earlier this week I seen two new hatches of young ducklings. The first lot of 6, had only just cracked the egg shell and the other lot of four were about half grown, with lots of feathers. I don't think I have ever seen ducklings at this time of the year before and it's an indication of the unseasonal wet weather (read; fantastic growing season), we are having! Hope this is of some interest Doh! Homer |
