Hi McLeish, From my point of view, I answered your questions honestly based on your choice of projectiles but I do agree with Matt Graham re the TSX. The 2 Buffalo that I shot went down like the bag of S..t when hit with the 300gn TSX, both on shoulder shots but never having hunted Sambar I can not say Yey or Ney as to the best projectile. I also agree with Gryphon about the Woodleigh P.P. failing (sort of) and there was a discussion about a bad batch but like computer problems it could not be replicated. ![]() 300gn TSX in .375H&H at work. I do agree also that a "Test" as you said would be advantageous based on a given caliber, load and bullet weight duly supervised by some of our more experienced forum members but if this were to happen, a suitable caliber should be selected by Forum Members in a Poll, then the projectile contenders should be selected and finally the type of "Meat" target which would need to be a Rump or the entire front end but at the current dollar value of cattle they would need to be excluded. As for the last paragraph I will leave that selection up to those that have legal access to the "Meat" If nothing else it does make the grey matter work a little harder which can only be a good thing. Cheers, Jeff Gray |
