NitroX, The gunus "Lactrodectus" is found over most of the world, they even have it in Italy, so I suspect that you will find them throughout temperate and warmer climes across Europe. King Baboon, you may be interested: the Italian subspecies is; Latrodectus tridicipunctata. They call it "Malmignatta" which means something like "nasty whore"... It's a smaller spider, with 13 dull red spots on the abdomen, hence it's name. Deaths have been recorded, but not in the last 100years, since they stopped doing things like drinking cow piss and large quantities of brandy as "anitdote" |
