My mate was hit by a common black snake one time this variety are considered "not too bad" but still a worry,but he needed two doses of anti venene to save him during an emergency flight to the hospital.I treat them all as bad as sometimes ID can be wrong and its well known a lot have died after a wrongly ID snake has bitten them only last night a mate and i were walking along the river while fishing and the snake thought was strong in my mind as we were in long grass on the bank.Yuk
