Kangaroo Island is Australia's third largest island, 155 kilometres long and up to 55 kilometres wide, some 4500 kilometres square.

Getting To Kangaroo Island
Daily flights operate from Adelaide Airport to Kingscote, and take approximately 30 minutes. A passenger and vehicle ferry departs daily from Cape Jervis, a 90 minute drive south of Adelaide.

Climate and Conditions
Relatively mild conditions are experienced during both summer and winter, typical of island climates. At times, cool ocean breezes make windproof clothing necessary, but central areas of the Island can experience warmer temperatures.

Having been separated from the mainland during the last ice age, Kangaroo Island is a true wilderness, and 30% of the island is protected as conservation and national parks. Many plants and animals existing on the Island are no longer found elsewhere.

The high season for Kangaroo Island is between October to May.
