Sorry Mark,
I can't help but, hopefully, other pheasant farms are run differently from what I observed at a Central Victorian operation about 12 years ago.

Though the pheasants had apparently been released early in the morning, the only ones we came across appeared when the opereator's offsider turned up in a truck with a cage on the back, supposedly to take shot pheasants back to the coolroom. This guy must have been good at finding birds because they always came from his direction.
