Re: Laws in Australia

The "uniform" national firearms laws are not really uniform at all. Except usually in what they ban. The actual detail can be quite different.

"Uniform" laws, the worst thing ever to happen in this country for firearm laws. Bring back a true "states rights" form of government and true "Federalism". So the nuts and socialists in NSW don't dictate to the rest of the country!

In reply to:

Category C Licence:
Firearms allowd - Semi auto centrefire or rimfire rifles, pump action & Semi auto shotguns.
Requirements (not as sure on this one)- Must be primary producer (farmer). Not sure of the exact reqirement for this licence. Very hard to get

This category is for rimfires and shotguns. I have a class C licence. Centrefires are prohibted except only in very exceptional circumstances and I believe a different class covers them.

In reply to:

ammunition must be stored at least 5m away in a separate safe.

I believe this just is "a separate locked container". Never ever heard a "5 metre" requirement and does not have to be a safe. If this is the case in a particular state it is the first I have ever heard of a distance restriction.

Its important not to ADD to the already oppressive firearms laws.
