Re: Tasmanian Tiger

There was one alive about 20 years ago in the Tasmanian central highlands region - near Woods Lake and Lagoon of Islands. How do I know?? Because I saw one - along with 3 other trout fishermen, when it ran across the track in front of us at about 2.00 AM! We all had good torches, and to a man we exclaimed "Tiger"! when we caught it in the light. There were no foxes in Tassie then - and it had the unmistakable hunched back and stripes of a Tiger - hard to confuse with a dog. I'd like to think his progeny are still out there - but you'd have to be poking around at 2.00 AM in the middle of nowhere to see them - who else but some trout-deprived Mainlander fishermen would be crazy enough!
