Re: Australian's Red "Buffalo" - Banteng

Max Davidson Safaris is in name only, His son Peter is now or was running the safari business whilst Max is doing his Tourism tour business showing the aboriginal art etc of the Northern Territory to the world.

As for using him, why don't you use a fellow hunter and member who has advertisments here on the Nitroexpress forum. I am talking about Graham Williams, Australian Buffalo Safaris who also does Bantang in the Coburg Peninsular.

I think Peter trades as Peter Davidson Safaris or Peter Davidson Arnhemland Hunting Safaris.

Two outfitters that sponsor NitroExpress.com, Matt Graham of Hunt Australia, and Graham Williams of Australian Buffalo Hunters can book banteng hunts for clients.

I hunted personally with Matt on a two by one hunt together (Matt being the other hunter) last year (Nov 2007) and took a fine banteng bull with my .450 double rifle. Banteng do not require such a heavy rifle but it is my bovine slayer .

I really enjoyed the hunt though in November the weather was baking hot in the middle of the day, many afternoons there were rain showers from thunderstorms and I suppose the humidity was very high. The Cobourg Peninsula however jutting out to the Arafura Sea has a moderating influence and there can be some more pleasant sea breezes. Inland in November would be quite different. Of course Banteng can be hunted in the more pleasant months of June to September.

One thing I strongly recommend from my personal experience. If booking book with a good outfitter like Hunt Australia or Aust Buffalo Hunters, especially if they make sure you have a good guide. I would have been less than impressed if Matt Graham had not been hunting as well. Enough said.

PS I will shift these posts to another thread, as they are off topic.
