One minute he's on the cover of Vogue, then he's putting photos of his ass on the internet, I dread to think what might come next!

Its my "lever action trash" rifle, an older model BLR in .308.

I have seen a fair number of blackish donkeys over time, I think?

That's why I am not reading any more threads that John starts. The shock could be too much.

That is a nice coloured Donkey, John.

Absolutely, they are about, them and the whitish phase and brownish phase, it's just that the biggest numbers are the greys.

Nitrox, your post's title is slightly provocative however I am sure that nobody amongst us was expecting you to be affected by an exhibitionistic syndrome disorder!
A donkey is not a really common quarry in the big game hunting community and therefore this one really deserved to be presented on the Forum. May I ask what hunters in Oz do with the meat (I don't know if it qualifies for the name of venison) of feral donkeys, feral horses, feral camels, etc. ? Is it eaten (I have eaten camel in Africa and found it tasty, a lot of people eat horse meat in Europe, etc.), or used to feed dogs, or simply not collected?

Re: A picture of my ass!

Here is the full story behind MY ASS PHOTOS.

NT Wild Ass (Donkey) & Pig Hunt 2010

Guys, visit or re-visit that hunt story, I certainly enjoyed re-visiting it, and reminders of that trip. That trip had some issues and not bush, vehcle or camping or hunting kind, and I avoided those in the re-telling of the story. Sometimes hunting by oneself is a better choice. Or with good well known mates, rather than strangers. It was an experience no doubt.

The title of the thread was of course a joke. But perhaps prompted as a joke by the social media phenomenom of selfies especially the popular "blonde" T&A hunting and shooting PR promoters on social media.

I'm not a vegtarian reformed blonde T&A shooting promoter so don't need ass photos. Nor would anyone want to look at them.

Donkeys in Australia are feral beasts. Domestic stock which has gone wild over the decades and centuries. Some were escapees from old mines, or road and railway works. And some might have been released when motorised options came into practic.

We have HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS, perhaps millions of them in Australia. The property hunted was used by Hunt Australia for feral hunts, where clients may have shot thousands over their hunt. And did sometimes shoot several housand rounds in a week. Largely Hunt Australia had killed over most of the ferals. They no longer organised outfitter hunts on his property. Matt Graham offered the property to a group to try out for self guided hunts. I organised a test hunt, and two srangers put up their hand to accompany me.

As for feral game, imagine how happy a cattleman would be to have thousands of donkeys removed from his range! Each one eating probably similar to a cow.

They are pests. We didn't take any donkey meat. The locals don't want it either. No doubt donkey can be eaten, similar to horse, no idea?

We didn't utilise any of the pig meat. A lot of outback pigs have various diseases and do need to be examined to ensure they are safe to eat. But I have noticed "264" utilises his pig kills sometimes. Most NT hunters don't.

Note this is hot country, temperatures might be in th mid 30's degrees to over 40. Any meat needs to be chilled in a ice box or fridge/freezer.

On pigs though, many "wild boar' on the menu in Germany used to come from feral pigs in Australia.

And on donkeys, there may be a lot less in the future, the world wide locusts, the Chinese, are globally sourcing donkeys and wild asses in Africa and in Australia. In Australia buying domestic and wild caugh donkeys. To process their hides from some sort of "natural medicine".

I don't think I have seen donkey meat available, nor horse meat. Camel meat is available. Along with buffalo, crocodile, barramndi fish, deer venison, emu, kangaroo and other meats, for example from a local meat supplier, "Wild Meats". Which is an Aboriginal company. In Supermarkets, usually it is domestic meats and kangaroo meat nowadays as well. Rarely other wild meats.

In Australia we are spoilt by having seemingly unlimited numbers of many feral species. One day that will change, and also change the idea of utlising feral game meats. I always try to use most of the deer venison I kill. And take some cuts from buffalo. Ducks, hares of course. Rabbits are inspected for disease and left lie if diseased. Otherwise bloody ones or large ones the dog gets, and I take the medium sized ones. Roos we can't officially hunt for sport. Some properties have destruction permits and tags. Most roo meat is professionally shot. There are about 3.5 to 7 million of them shot per year. And sometimes up to say 63 million in the country. Not endangered. Pigs can be inspected, some regions have pigs with less disease than others. Kangaroo Island pigs are pretty much all clean. Camels are shot in th dserts. There are hundreds of thousands of them.

At the moment I have rabbit, hare, duck, pheasant, sambar and fallow deer venison, buffalo and saltwater crocodile in my freezers. Roo meat as well. Plus the usual domestic meats.

Re: A picture of my ass!

The farm where we shoot gophers, is owned by a Swiss family, who run a butcher shop as well. We have eaten with horse numerous times.
Horse is OK, but I prefer beef.
