FYI--there is an article in the October issue of Petersens Hunting.page 34--regrding the fastest gun of them all..comparing shooting times between the Blaser R*, 60 degree bolt action they used a Sig 101, Browning lever action, Remington 7600 pump action and a Springfield MI-A..

The article states the Blaser was faster than the MI-A--which I find hard to believe..but whatever..and fastest of them all.

I have not been able to get it to pull up on my computer..intersted article..find it interesting they never brought up the "double rifle:..

I couldn't get it either, but !

I guess my idea of a fast shooter is out of line - and it's with a wheel gun - not an off the shelf revolver, but a wheel gun just the same.

He's been on TV and won more competitions than I can count. Jerry Miculik's been shooting a very long time.

I cannot cope with the ridiculous yelling and yahooing in the video but he can shoot..he puts them all on target too.

Since we're talking speed - Jerry's got to have fingers as quick, almost as quick or perhaps even quicker than 'ol Ed McGivern at his peak.

Ed's best was 12 shots, 1.5 seconds on a paying card at 10 paces - revolver in each hand, 6 shots each, including the draw.
Ed used a Police Positive in his left hand and S&W M10 in the right. They weren't modified for short pulls- standard, but T-pulls of course, not stock.

Daryl what you say is quick but the other bloke is using a 50 cal..that is a huge amount of difference.

Many moons ago I read an article that credited Jerry Lewis and Sammy Davis Jr as being in the top 10 quick draw times.

I dont care how you cut it but 6 shoots a second through a manualy operated 50cal is outstanding.

The Barret is a semi-auto, I believe.

Yes - that is still very impressive.

Ed M. did his fast shooting before there was such a thing as fast draw, quick draw, IPSC, PPC or whatever shooting sports. He used to travel around the fairs in the 40's and 50's in the States putting on 'shooting' demonstrations. He was pretty good with a handgun.

Miculik is good, there is no question on that score.
