New action
      #321878 - 27/11/18 12:09 AM

I just purchased a new in the box Hoch/Macham action that was waiting for me when I got home yesterday. For those not familiar with this is a massive single shot action. This particular action was made in the 1980's and never used. I haven't decided what to make so anyone with an opinion chime in.

Well, if it is a massive action then you obviously NEED a massive calibre, preferably with a big chunky rim on it. What sort of game is there in Georgia?

I expect most of us don't know this action, so a photo would be helpful of course.

I just had a look online and there are a couple of pictures of the action, looks good. Certainly a big cartridge would be suitable, something like the 450/400 3" would be my choice.

Since the photo shop decided to screw us all i Haven't bothered to learn to post using any other sight. I already have a double rifle in 450/400/3". I did weigh the action today and it weighs 2lb 12.5 oz. I try not to duplicate the same cal in my collection. Was kind of leaning toward a 450 3" nitro express. Plastic milk jugs beware.
