Only thing to feel the pain so far is some large rocks and a water melon.

The timber is from Roger Vardy and will be off to the stock makers as soon as i can raise the rest of the fun coupons to pay for the work.

Noice work and wood. What contract # timber from Vardy as it is reminiscent of a matched pair of C25 I have (Bought 1988 or thereabouts)

Very nice. I like the shaping done on the quarter rib, it matches up with the barrel and receiver very nicely.

Heck, even the factory wood looks great. The replacement looks phenominal! Definitely post more pictures when the new stock is done. Very nice metal work too.

Very Holland and Holland'ish !!!

i have always liked Holland's style of Quarter rib and front sight. By far the nicest around IMHO.

The timber is C21-7 and is exhibition grade, very heavily figured.
I looked at alot of timber with roger and this was the best it could aford and only 1 down frm the best he had anyway.
I agree the factory timber on this gun is very good , it had 2 small marks on i when i bought it as a 338 win mag a few years back for $400. A light sanding and a re finish and all was new.

The front sight, barrel band and the rear quater rib with sight and ivory inlay are all made by Bob of Kudu Services. I love the classic styling of the H&H guns and sights thus why i went the moon sight and single rear leaf to keep it simple.

Now the long weekend and the first unsuspecting sambar have a date with me and my little friend.

Beautiful rifle! The only other change that I'd do is re-do the lever to look like the push button that Alex Henry used in his old hammer guns. That would make this rifle shine!

I have seen the henry button leaver but I prefer the ruger leaver for speed and safety when needing quick offhand shots with a chambered round.

Amendment. Mine are also C21 but -11. Thought the wood was too familiar for a different contract #.
(though I paid but $500 for the pair I fear what the going price is these days)

Jawz, that is a beautiful rifle. It's giving me some more ideas! What make of barrel is it? Did Bob fit and chamber it? I'm looking forward to seeing it in the new timber.
Cheers, Chris

I'll echo Ben's "Wow" and say we should be due for an update by now! Beautiful work. Would like to see the new stock for sure.

I could not see it from the photo, but what mods did you make to the safety to eliminate the case being caught on it during ejection?

That sure is a nice rifle. Would one need some sort of extra ballast in the stock for a bit more weight? A couple of recoil reducers or similar?

The OP hasn't posted since 09, not much chance of an update unless someone knows him.
