....Martini Cadet or small frame Msrtini's.....how about some pics of your creations, Ive been working on a set of interchangeable barrels for one in a variety of 30-30 sized cases of different calibres.....30 Herrett, 7mm Herrett ( obviously necked down )and probably a 22 version as well.
I also have one in 22 Mach IV, a shortened 222 Super (rimmed ) case......and of course theres the 32-40 black powder version , basically I wanted to go black powder without going to a muzzle loader.

.........so whip 'em out and lets have a look and see how they measure up !! ( does that sound wrong ? )

Suggest you give a good hard look at the 219 Donaldson Wasp in your project. It is one of the most inherently accurate cartridges I have ever built on Martini. 30-30 parent case.

I have not built a gun myself for a number of years due arthritis in my hands. Here is my last martini build.

Before:

A rusted out Model 1215 parts gun. I resurrected it and it is now a 17 HM2.

After:

I found this picture of a Cadet I built into a .22 K Hornet for my late wife. She would only shoot gophers for a long time until she got this gun. She didn't like the .22 LR for shooting rock chucks. Once she got this gun she changed her mind and would go after every chuck she saw. Lost her 6 years ago tomorrow.

I had vJohn Taylor build a couple of 17 Hornady Hornets. One on a Model 6 action and the other on a Model 1215. The New wife likes to shoot Rock chucks also. I loaned her one of my 17 HH to shoot these chucks and she won't give the gun back

That 17 Hornady Hornet is an awesome gopher gun. It is a good killer on chucks.

I have also built a couple of 17 HMR's on 1215 actions by simply installing a new 17 cal barrel liner, modifying the extractor, adjusting the striker impact and adjusting load position.

I also had a Westley Richard Sherwood action rebarrelled and chambered for .219 Donaldson Wasp. Years ago when I was active , I built a number of these for other people. I did have one of my own but I sold it. I decide I need one.

I am getting ready to move at the end of the year from Montana to Oklahoma. Once I get settled, I have a 1215 that I am going to build into 7-30 Waters. It will be my one last custom build. With my poor grip it may not be my best build, but it still will be better than riding a rocking chair.

This is one my bro re=-stocked for a friend, and I put on the .22 CZ Hornet barrel, rechambered using my .17AckHornet reamer, to .22 Ackley Hornet.
bottom picture: .22 hornet, was necked up to .6mm, then down to hold the .22 bullet again, with the shoulder in the right location for positive headspace.

It was a good plank of curly maple. The metal work is browned.
Nice clear old 6-18X40mm Bausch and Lomb scope.

I have been hunting for a martini cadet action or rifle for a project but have not found one at a decent price and not sure of to many places that carry them. If someone has any idea, I would love to know. And beautiful rifles you guys have here. I would love to have one in the improved zipper myself

The action I used for my .17HMR project, cost me $415.00. It came with a stock and .22RR barrel.

Here's one of mine, a W.W Greener action chambered in 30-30 Wesson. Quilted Maple stock from Treebone Carving, full tapered octagonal barrel. I also have a 222 Rimmed (ugly as sin, but shoots brilliantly) and a 218 Mashburn Bee.

Thanks for posting Clayton,
This is my first ever 'custom' project- I was a student and funds were scarce! My ex bought the barrel (Ferlach) at a closedown sale, I got the action from a mate and yet another mate did the restocking, his first ever stocking job. I then took the rifle to one of South Africa's foremost engravers, Armin Winkler, and asked him to engrave it. He asked me how much I wanted to spend on the engraving, I opened my wallet and had R 500.00 in it which I it gave to him. That gents, are the equivalent of $50.00 at the time! While not perfect, it was the first of many projects and my love for singles grew from this little baby!
Regards,
Charl

Ha Ha, I reckon you got your moneys worth on that great engraving, she's a beauty !

A good pick up by the Ex on the barrel, strange she didn't take it when you parted !

Sweet little gems aren't they!
Especially the .22K Hornet it is a very efficient little round.
Charls yours is a superb example of how to make a Martini really stand out!
Love the timber Dave, that Maple is certainly something isn't it.
Couldn't put it better than Daryl!

Beautiful gun if it was put together right. The cocking Indicator should straight up decocked. It will look different assembled correctly.

What tang sight do you have installed on your Martini? Can you provide a few close up photos that show it in detail
