I was fortunate to pick this rifle up at the last Rock Island auction.
Their descriptions and photos often leave much to be desired so I am pleased that this particular rifle ended up having a great looking bore and is also a takedown which is, of course, a bonus.
Obviously refinished but very sound and should be a good shooter.

Huvius,
During the viewing day at the auction house I handled that rifle and wished my checkbook would have allowed me the opportunity to bid on it.
It makes me happy to know it has a good home and will be well feed and cared for.
Be sure to let us know how she shoots.

Congratulations Ben! That is a lovely rifle - and proofed for a real bullet too!

A single shot doesn't come any better than a Fraser.

Thanks for the comments gents. I simply bought the rifle... I didn't make it...LOL
To me, there is no more perfect light rifle than a 303 falling block.

One thing I noticed is that it has a Jeffery rear sight. Jeffery made some of their express sights with the standing sight with a wide "U" shaped notch for use with the Lyman peep which were often fit to Jeffery Farquharsons - even 450/400s.
The standing "U" has little overhangs where the first folding leaf rests against it. This leaf folds up rearward while the other two fold up forward. This is well explained in Winfer's Jeffery and Trade Farquharson book.
There are also two filled holes in the wood behind the top tang so clearly there once was a peep fitted to he rifle.

WOW! That is a classy piece of history. Great maker, great design, great caliber (and w/the 215gn bullet), and amazing condition.

Please give us an update and more photos as you wring it out or hunt with it.
