I've heard people in Kodiak are "all wet"...much of the time, anyway...

I have concentrated more on fishing the last couple years. We practically live on our boat when the salmon are running. I hunt with handguns, but a few years back I used the 416 for a white tail in Pennsylvania while visiting family there. Less meat damage than an '06...and he went about 15 yards (with a broken shoulder) and fell.

With my Contender, I've taken a mountain goat and a couple deer up here. I just haven't been able to find the time to get out and hunt that much due to work. We'll be leaving next summer...job transfer...so we have to enjoy the salmon fishing while we can. My wife wants to take a bear, so we'll probably try that in the spring.

Oregon is nice...spent 4 years in North Bend back in the early '90's...great area for outdoor stuff. I shot a black bear at 7 yards with a Dan Wesson 44 mag...that was quite a rush.
