Some of my equipment

For the sartorial travelling hunter ...





A Hideo Wakamatsu set of luggage. A cabin bag and a ..... ammo bag .... in tiger fur. Alright, it is a sartorial ammo case!

Purchased these in Hong Kong, and took a while to make the decision .... had to telephone the wife! Other "furs" were leopard or cheetah (I forget), zebra and jersey or some sort of cow hide. Not actually hide, it looks like fur or hide, but is actually a glossy solid finish. The photos don't do them justice.

Unfortunately it does not fit a pith helmet so can't be used for my next tiger hunt ....

It will definitely stick out from the endless line of regular suitcases on the baggage carousels at airport terminals.

Since you like cigars, use the beauty box for carrying cigars and ammo, without them any hunt will be a disaster. Wear the pithelmet on the plane, guaranteed, you will draw attention.

Some more of my equipment. My hunting briefcase, for carrying papers and documents or when travelling, or doing business, a Boyt Harness bag.





What a hunting "man bag" should contain. A cigarette case or for small cigars, a cigar pouch, and a Oroton leather business card wallet.







A pair of nifty telescopic drinking cups.






A "Hemingway" style notebook.

You know Johan,

when flying back on the plane from HK, I had two cabin bags, a day back pack, where I keep my camera gear, and the cabin bag above. The little one I put inside my travel duffel bag. Managed to get them past the eagle eyed staff. Its an art. They are quite touchy in HK as everyone buys stuff and has overweight luggage. Some have several bags.

In the plane the stewardess helped a late passenger find space for their cabin bag and shifted this one of mine a bit, and the two stewardess both complemented on it being such a nice bag. However I kept quiet.

It is nice, but doesn't actually fit the same amount of stuff my Lowepro camera day back pack does.

Yes it does stand out. Yes a pith helmet would get one noticed too I think !

I should be more like a friend whom calls a spade a spade, and a .... a .....



PS Good idea, the smaller case could carry cigars, cutter, lighter, crystal tumblers and spirits flasks. It will never see a airline flight as it is too impractical.

A shot shell bag for an afternoon's shooting.

Purchased from Century Firearms quite a long time, ago and a small percentage of what the same costs in the "shooting galleries" in the London's West.

The lid is cool as it is hinged so hangs down when open allowing easy access to the shells.

I hung the bird carrier on the shotshell bag, but have never actually used it.

I'd love to source these sorts of shotshell bags again, and add the NE logo on it and sell them.

Blitzen is wondering when we are going out shooting seeing the shotshell bag is out?

The cartridge bag, is it lined?

I had one that was lined with some sort of rubber material and took 100 12ga shells - very practical. Got lost in a relocation - bummer. Do you use a travel humidor for longer journeys?

Where to get the Hemingway notebook?

A real "man bag" shall also contain at least one decent knife, a small flask of the strong stuff, a handgun and spare ammo

A GSP, Blitzen, from the Pointgold Breeder in Echuca in Vic.

He's a good eager boy, but gets a little crazy each night at sunset, when these photos were taken. He's probably eager for some mayhem when these photos were taken.

Various goodies. My new Scarpa Ranger GTX boots, my Akubra "Cooper Pedy" hat, a Thomas Williams Custom "White Hunter" style damascus knife, a much used .450 No.2 NE ammo pouch and a couple of rounds.

I have an old issue belt like that from my younger years. Never thought of using it as a hunting belt.

Adam the belt loop cartridge holders are they made by Dingo leather products?
