Original Rigby/Oberndorf metal finish?

I'm interested to know what the original metal finish was for the early Rigby and/or Oberndorf Mauser sporting rifles. I understand that they were rust blued prior to the 1930's, but to what final polish? Also, what parts might have been fire or nitre blued, and what parts might also have been casehardened.
