7mm Rigby Magnum in bolt action rifle...what actually is it?
      #118075 - 01/11/08 08:49 AM

Can anyone please educate me! What is the 275 Rigby Magnum cartridge? This is in a Mauser bolt action and is not the rimmed round shown in COTW! Someone has said this was the Rigby name for the 7x64 aka 7mm Brenneke when chambered and marketed by Rigby? Many thanks to all who read this post and to those that can give me an answer!

if it is not rimmed then it is either 7x64 brenneke which goes back to 1916 or 7x61 sharp & hart which is around 1946 ,and rigby did make guns in this caliber mike schwandt has one on his web site as we speak .if on the gun it just says "high velocity" this means 140 grain bullet in 275.rigby or(7mm mauser} ....paul
