Hi, I'm Stephen and I'm a Mauserholic! Introducing my rifles
      #116701 - 12/10/08 04:34 AM

Hi Folks

I'm new to Nitroexpress and really like the idea of a Mauser specific topic board.

I have two ladies from Oberndorf and a "Suhl" type.

This is my 10.75 x 68 Type A circa 1936/7

Cheers
Stephen

Hi Stephen
Welcome to NE. Like yourself, I'm also a Mauserholic, only my condition is more serious. I'm very impressed with your Oberndorf ladies, especially with DSB solid wall actions. I have a scoped Type M like these which you will find in a previous post along with the rest of my collection. Would be interested in knowing how you came by these beauties.

Hi Don & Peter

Thanks for the welcome.

Yes, Don I see that your "condition" is very serious! I've looked at a lot of your babes so far, including that Type M and it's mouth watering.

These two actually came from a friend who decided to sell of a lot of rifles early last year. I missed the 8 x 60 which was a round top, but he actually insisted I take these as he did not want them leaving SA and saw me as a "keeper" not a speculator. I'd always appreciated Mausers but buying them has led me to start learning more about them, and with Speed's book and some internet research, I'm starting to know why they're so special.

Also, I was especially attracted by those flat tops; I figured that they would make an ideal home gunsmithing project for me to drill, tap and thread to teach myself how to mount a scope. Much easier than those round top jobs.........

Hi Stephen,
From one Mauserholic to another welcome aboard.I think you may find that a common trait here on NE. You have some very impressive Mausers too.

Always wanted a double square bridge solid wall Mauser.
Yours has got to be the best I have ever seen! Great chambering too. Congrats!

Huvius

Times are tuff.

The markets are a-crashing

I've got a wife, a cat, 6 dogs, 4 kids and a dozen guns......

A man is faced with hard choices.....

I've decided to keep the Mausers....

Hello Stephen,

a welcome from another Mauserholic in Bavaria!

I´m collecting 98 systems and rifles (on a small scale).
My first gunsmith-buildt rifle was a 10,75x68 on a DWM action. This piece convinced me, now I´m shooting only 98 rifles for hunting.

best regards
Rolf

Welcome Stephen.

Great pictures of great rifles. Thankyou. (But we'd love to see more)

I hope you enjoy the company here, we do!

Alex
