January hunt in Sweden
      #227515 - 25/03/13 11:28 PM

I was hunting in the south of Sweden in january. The main purpose was to shoot Wildboars, but we were also allowed to shoot calves of Red deer and Fallow deer. It was very cold -20C in the morning, some warmer during the day -15C . Good hunting, but itīs hard to hunt when itīs that cold. I did shoot 2 Wildboars. Blaser 9,3x62 286 North Fork bullets. We have had a lot of snow this winter and it has been cold, still is. Now the spring should start coming, but itīs -10C during nights and some plus degrees daytime.

Skitt jakt!!!

Thanks for this thread, Sville.

Looks a bit like where I travelled thru in Skåne years ago.

I've heard lots of guys say they wish feral pigs would get a move on and find their way to our region since there is less and less left to hunt here.

And then those who have them don't want them!

I at least want them, up more north were I live, I feed them properly. In the winter they get old bread from stores, potatoes... We have about 50 in the area just now. There are discussions about them in some parts, mostly in farmlands.
John, she has a very good progress. She will be 2 years old this summer. This year there are two Mooses, some Fallow Deers and a lot of Roedeers for her. She hunts up to 1,5 h, barking and pushing. Tomorrow I will test her for Wildboars in an fenced area. It will be a lonely Wild boar in there. I will be with her and support her. Maybe I shoot the Boar at the end, it depends on how it turns out. //Staffan
