Jagd inn Ostpreußen
      #326339 - 24/03/19 07:55 PM

Last year I went hunting just 135km south of Kaliningrad in Poland.
It was in august and the weather was nice. Maybe a little too warm actually. We had 3½ day of hunting. I could have spended another 2 days out there. It takes 15 hours of driving here fra Copenhagen area.

I used my.270wea.Maybe this year I will try my Mauser 66 in 6,5x68 and a scoped double hunting red stag and pigs.

Highly recommended!!. Great people, great hunting great everything.

I like that idea, cutting a coat of arms into a rough boulder.

Whose coat of arms is it? Poland's? Plus?

We used to have a property with many dozens of huge boulders. Which I regret I can not have any of, eg for a rustic fountain piece, as a relative took all 32 of them some decades ago. And my father let him do it.

"East Prussia"?

Waidmannsheil. All yours, or yours and yours hunting companions?

Ha ha, some onion, capsicum, tomato, maybe potato on a stick along with sausage, venison, liver, chicken, meat, meat meat - I'm guessing at the meats.

Lovely.

Congratulations on your nice hunt and superb pictures, Rigby Mauser.

For our non-European peers, not familiar with European history, Eastern Prussia (Ostpreußen) was the home of German-speaking tribes since the early Middle Ages and the city of Königsberg was founded in mid-13th century by the Teutonic Knights. In 1945 most of the German population fled the Soviet Army and those that had remained were expelled during the following years. The city of Königsberg was renamed Kaliningrad by the Soviet after WW2 and Eastern Prussia territory was shared between the USSR and Poland.

Lovely looking place and I have always found the people to be very friendly. Great hunting, great food and the girls are pretty, what more do you want.

Matt.
