For our European friends and those planning to visit Europe, what hunts are planned for 2006?

Nothing set in stone yet, but I plan to hunt in France again in November or December.

Do a little rough shooting, maybe a day of driven boar, and a day driven for partridges/pheasants.

I'd like to do a couple of days stalking for red deer this time. I've be dreaming of stalking stag for some time...

Moose will be on my menu, as will grouse up in the mountains most likely.

I also hope to spend some time hunting roe deer too. And will probably use some days with my dog looking for capercallie and black grouse (Lyrurus tetrix).

The only downside is that it's a long wait until then!

Got 3 or 4 Roe to take off the syndicate land, ( Just extended it by about 3 times so there may be more ).

Pheasant, Partridge and ground game,( rabbit and hare ) and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another Red Stag to become available on the local estate. If I'm lucky there may be five or six hinds to add to that.

Other than that, hopefully a few nights out lamping for foxes with the trusty .243. ( Let's just hope that Erik hangs on to his snow and doesn't get any ideas about sharing it with us, why do the Norwegians have to be so damn neighbourly )???

I'd rather you shared a bottle of Gin or Port, that's the Christmas spirit I prefer!!!

All the best for the season anyway!!

I'll continue with driven hunts every weekend 'till the end of February. After that I'll try a chamois or an Aoudad (have to see which one first), Roes in June and July, some Red in August and begin with the main season again in September.
