Hi Kapu

That's a beautiful rifle. I'd love to see a picture of the complete gun showing the wood. What load is it regulated for? What is the approximate weight? and bbl. length?

I used to think that I was an old fart because I loved how hammer guns looked, hammerless ones not quite "spaniels without ears", but definitely in second place. More pictures of guns like this one and I might turn into a hammer gun fundamentalist. Superb!

Again, Kapu, your collection is amazing. I also agree with mehulkamdar, and not because I too am an old fart -- although I am one indeed.

Hammer DRs are not necessarily a thing of the past. I was fortunate enough to stumble onto a Ferlib round body, hammer rifle in 9.3X74R, cased with an extra set of 20ga barrels. Lovely engraving and incredible wood. Easily one of my favorites in the collection. Shots as good as it looks and is quite accurate.

The Italians still relish a good hammer double and turn out a small number each year. Progress may be great, but the chance to get one of these should not be missed if the chance comes by. Dave

Nice rifle! One thing that I'm curious about are the small screws on the triggers. Are these for adjusting the amount of sear engagment?

Regards,

Jim

Those small screws are for adjusting the reguired pull strength for the set triggers. Real handy feature in 450 NE with both hammers cocked...

Kapu,

Do you push the triggers forward to set them? I am fairly new to double rifles but I never thought that some of them had set triggers. Sounds a bit scary to me too.

Jim,

Yes, you push them forward to set them. Seems to be that the continental makers did like to have those, even I do not quite undertand the reason, especially on these sidelock DR's, on where the triggers do have already an excellent and grisp pull by itself. Like stated, never even being trying to have both of those set and cocked and not even use usually for single shots, as not doing good for the shoulder and to the fingers, if the shot goes a bit too earlier than you'd like thought with 450 NE.
