Hi guys - it popped up recently over at e-gun. Single trigger sidelock, with Swarovski 1,5-6x42...what triggered my fancy is very pleasing (to my eye that is) engraving, especially the right side Thomy - see for yourself - auction ends in a week and after that photos will be gone.

Nice and certainly cheaper than the original of Euro 26K!

I've had 2 - 9.3 X74R Chapuis. They are great guns for the money . Mine have both been box locks , is that a real side lock or box lock with side plates ? The engraving is very nice !!!!! I would prefer a double trigger , but that's just me. If I liked the gun I would go for it. I know that the basic gun is very sound and it's a great cartridge !!!! I had a buddy a few years ago that killed a charging elephant with a frontal brain shot from a "9.3" . Same friend has used same gun on 2 cape buffalo , no problem.

It is a boxlock with side plates. I sold a similiar one in 30R Blaser a year ago. I shot very well and was a light and nimble double... but a relatively older Victor Sarasqueta in 375 H&H crossed my way and I really wanted a 375 double!http://forums.nitroexpress.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

My hunting mate has one just like that but with Kudu and Leopard engraving. It also came with a set of 20ga barrels. An awesome hunting rig.

Beautiful!

I had a Chapuis UGEX in 9.3x74R with a scope mounted in Recknagel swing off mounts and it was very handy, accurate and a pleasure to shoot.

Great double in a great caliber.

Not That Chapuis. [Re: ccmdoc]

It is a beautiful rifle. But it is not made by the Chapuis Armes that makes the UGEX.

It is made by Pierre Chapuis, whose firm is Armes Pierre Artisan. http://www.armes-pierre-artisan.fr/en/

He specializes mostly in high-grade boxlocks.
