Balance Points
      03/05/06 09:51 PM

Ok, while I was sitting in the hospital last week with my wife and newborn son, I found my mind wandering to DR construction. I've been working on getting barrel profiles better. This definately gives the DR a better feel. However I haven't been paying to much attention to balance points till something my father-in-law said in the hospital. So my question is where is the point of balance(POB) on most DR's? In shotguns it seems like most english guns are built with the POB using the front trigger as reference. It also seems that most Germanic guns use the breech face as their reference for POB. So does anyone have any basic "rules" that the fine makers use? Also If anyone is willing I'd like to hear from those of you with multiple guns if there sems to be any concensus on POB.

Thanks again,

Bill
