Rigby scope

Hi guys, I have posted this question on another site but got zero response. Maybe someone here can help. I have a Rigby double rifle in 577/500 BP (hammergun) built 1890 and in very nice condition. This rifle is unusual in that it has a detactable scope that is numbered to the rifle. I am trying to identify the scope. It is 25cm long with a large 6cm eyepiece, the rest 3/4" straight. The crosshairs are a full + and the settings sit on top of the scope which is , I have been told, typically British. The name 'Aldis' has been mentioned, but not confirmed. No names or marks on the scope except for 'for rifle no 16060'. It has brass caps (not leather) which apparently indicates high quality and early manufacture. Unfortunately I cannot post a pic (don't know how)and I know this is kinda vague, but maybe someone has a idea of what I have? Thanks, Charls.
