Ludwig Borovnik .300 WM double rifle marketed by Flaig's

Gentlemen,

I recently purchased a .300 WM SxS double rifle marketed by Flaig's back in the 1970s.
My gun was proofed in 1970 and built by Ludwig Borovnik of Ferlach, Austria.
Barrels are approx. 24 ". Does anyone have any idea what bullet weight was used to regulate these rifles...150 gr or 180 gr or ???

Any information about the rifle is greatly appreciated.

I have a Ferlach/Winkler that's just a bit older than yours and the regulation target shows 180 grn.
It's not he answer you wanted I'm sure but it's a start.

I have a Josef Winkler double .300 Win Mag. It is regulated with 220 grain bullets and is wonderfully accurate and a great killer.



The only way to find out will be to try various bullet weights. The rifle will tell you which one it wants.

Have you considered writing (in German) to the firm and asking if they happen to have records of you rifle? This would be the simplest way.
You're very lucky that this maker is still in operation as many aren't!

try to contact ludwig borovnik in ferlach.
most probably he can provide you with the original data of the
original cartridge the double was regulated with. he is very
helpful.

Well- George at Champlin has one in .375. Had it for a while though.
