For those who have tried them, which of the doubles from Heym, Kreighoff and Chapuis tend to be the best quality in the US$20k bracket and why, thanks in advance, Mike Bailey

Heym is hands down the best Double for under $20,000.

In that price range, Heym has a substantial edge in build quality over Krieghoff, Chapuis, Merkel, Searcy, etc. To me, they also handle better than the rest and accuracy is as good or better.

Agree, Heym appears to be much better in quality. However, even though I do no own one, I like how the Krieghoff handles---

If I was to buy a modern day double it would probably still be a Heym

Funny how that goes. I have a friend that loves his. Even were the K-gun available with a usable safety, it would be the only one of the bunch that I would still reject. I've shot it a lot, and simply cannot abide the way it handles in the larger calibers. Too much weight in the ends and poor stock design.
