Indeed sir!

4 bore is a tremendous gun.......though hellishly expensive, and violent enough to fire,as is my understanding.

Fellow black powder double fan?

Ben

Yes,I love old black powder guns. After much more reserch,i found that Henry Stanley used a Lancaster and Reilly rifle and the really big gun i was thinking about may have been Sam Bakers 21 pound rifle ...that i think shot a 1 pound bullet and was 4 or 2 bore?Info on these old guns is hard to find....I did see yesterday, a new over/under double muzzle loader advertised in a magazine ...that i have never herd of before...it was made by Traditions and looked pretty nifty! .50caliber-350gr.Thompson/center maxie slug would be fun!

1 lb bullet? 16 ounces?

I think his was no 2 bore, just a full 4 bore with the 1.052" chambering.

I know of a cheap 2 bore shoulder gun with repaired stock,by Osbourne......can you handle it? imagine firing a ball shot through that....tis a wildfowler, but even so.......imagine even firing it. owch.

Ben
