What happened to Thad Scott?

They say on their webpage that they no longer have any inventory for sale. Just wondered if anyone knew what is going on with them.

Probably drunk under the table.

No loss to the trade IMHO. He stiched up a US based mate of mine and try everything under the sun to get out of a refund.

OK 500Nitro, I am guessing in Australia "stiched up"

is a phrase that means CHEATED Is that right, can
you explain?

Yep, stiched up means ripped off, cheated etc etc - I am sure you get the drift.

My mate was sooooo irate on the phone I had to hold it a foot from my ear !!!

He bought a gun on approval that was nothing like described / photographed - you know, hide all the bad bits in the photos
(I prefer to highlight any issues as individual points so everything is up front and known about beforehand).

Anyway, he wasn't to keen on taking it back.

Got the drift ?

Thad has some healthy problems and has gotten rid of most of his inventory. He will have ocassional items for sale.

Every issue has two sides. I bought quite a bit from Thad over the years. Guns were shipped to me on approval, if I liked them, he billed me. If I didn't like them, he took them back.

So, I for one am sorry to hear he has health problems.

Dave (pardon the nice side of me coming out, hope it does not ruin my image.)

A few years back Thad was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. My family has done business with him for almost 40 years, and never a problem. He's a very nice person, and was always honest with me. If I didn't like a gun a refund was never an issue with him. I feel he was a true asset to the trade, and will be sorely missed.

Good Grief, Death, if you and I continue to agree like this who knows what will happen. Thad also, unlike some dealers who treat guns as a commodity to be bought and sold, has a genuine love of firearms. I never had a gun misdescribed to me nor did I ever have a problem if I needed to return a gun, a very rare instance when I dealt with him. I bought some of my favorites from him, including several British falling blocks that he had an uncanny nack of locating for me. The prices were always right, and the rifles 100% as described. I too will miss him and hope his health at least remains stable, if it does not improve. Dave
