articulated trigger
      #237054 - 24/10/13 10:00 PM

Picked up a N.Guyot double recently and now the work of returning it to its former glory begins. First of all is the front trigger which going on the width of the blade, was originally articulated.
At the moment the front trigger is a shoe/ single set arrangement which leaves precious room to get a finger in and fire the left barrel.
Any photos, drawings etc of hinged tiggers is what I'm after.
thanks in advance,
Ron.

You can determine if front trigger is articulated, by seeing if it has free movement when you push the rear side of that trigger. If it has free forward movement, so that when you pull the rear trigger, during recoil your trigger finger bangs up against the rear of the front trigger, it does no injury to your finger. If that front trigger has no free forward movement, it is not articulated, your finger banging against the rear of front trigger can cause injury to finger. However, it isn't generally an issue on small caliber guns with minimum recoil. Articulated triggers are important on heavy recoiling rifles. The Germans seldom used articulated front triggers on small caliber double rifles, but did make them as set triggers, a nice extra for most accurate shooting.
