THE LOG OF THE AMKA , a very rare African elephant hunting book, by R.H. Plumb

Privately printed. 1928. First Edition.

The author and a group of friends including George Goodyear and Daniel Streeter on a hunting trip up the Nile river to the South Sudan and British East Africa using a boat, the Amka, as a source of transportation. Elephants, buffalo, lions and plains game are collected at various locales including Zeraf, Kenisa, and Mongala.

Original stiff card boards with raised titles. Illustrated with photos and folding map. 55 pp, 17 B+W photos. Tipped in map at rear. 6 in. x 8.25 in. x .25 in. Some wear and foxing (but not on the illustrations. Binding is solid, no torn,and all photos and text are clear. More photos and further description on request.

This is a very scarce item. My asking price is $500 (U.S.) , half of what is being asked by most others. I am open to all offers and trades. Book is located in New Brunswick, Canada.

There is some damage on the first two pages (see photo) from them having been stuck together...other than this the book is in overall good condition.
