Speer 270gr. at low velocity (around 2,000fps) should work.
Don't think they will regulate at that speed from a SxS.
Then there is PrivPartisan - USA branch, for bullets and likely brass as well.

Have and have had and loaded for 9.3x72R and 9.3x62, never have loaded for or owned a 9.3x72R
That said, I have read that some early 9.3’s like the 9.3x72 had tighter barrels in the grooves? What we would consider undersized these days.
May want to check that before going all out on a bullet choice.
If nothing else the 9.3x72 would be a fine one for cast gas check bullets.

Oh my mistake. I thought this was the 9.3x74R. IIRC, the 9.3x72 shot a 200gr. bullet at about 1,900fps to 2,000fps.
I agree with casting to the groove dia. or mostly likely, slightly larger.

Lots of places in Canada has loaded ammo in stock. Can't find any in the states yet.

The bullets for the 74 are really too heavy for the 72. Factory load for the 72 is a 193 grain bullet. I believe the 74 factory bullet is 286. I appreciate the offer though.

Is that groove or bore diameter?

If groove diameter, then cast bullets or sized down 200gr. Sierra .375 FN's would be the solution.

worth a try. I have a few of them & never a problem, made of brass.

I haven't been looking for a mold. I don't shoot enough. I was just going to buy 100 or so bullets.

That is a good deer round. My 9.3x72R kipplauf shoots 0.359" bullets which allows me to shoot readily available cast bullets.
I thought Buffalo Arms carried 0.366" bullets in the 193 gr weight.
If you cannot find dies, CH4D may have them in stock.
Also for bullets, you might try paper patching a heavy bullet intended for 357 Mag.

I'll look into that 85lc. Buffalo Arms doesn't list a .366 or a heavy .357 that I can find.

I bought heavy, gas checked cast bullets designed for a 357 from several sources. I believe GT Bullets has them. The bullets that I bought were sized either .359 or .360" (don't remember which but the suppliers had a range so sizes available).

It has been a while since I bought them but I found a couple of sources by Googling something like "hard cast gas checked bullets".

You might try some wide nose bullets. They are effective at short ranges.

I paper patched some 0.430" bullets to 0.439" for two rifles that required that bullet size.

The one thing to ask for is unlubercated bullets. If not available, remove the lub as that will cause the paper patch to adhere to the bullet.
