Warne QD scope mounts
      #165618 - 03/08/10 09:31 AM

I posted some photos of these on another website (at someone's request) so thought I'd link them over here as well. I've got them on my 458 but only have a cheap scope fitted - for use with my subsonic loads only, I'm sure the scope won't survive normal loads so I take it off.

Top rifle in the first couple of photos is my CZ550 375H&H with CZ mounts (very solid). The 458 is a CZ too.

I have Warne quick detachable rings on a Ruger 77 .458 Lott. With full power 500gr. loads, there has been no problem with these mounts- stay tight and return to zero when remove and remounted.

The only thing I do not like about the Warnes is they are vertically split.

However I have the quick detachable one's on the 416Rigby, 375 H&H (both CZ550's) and on the 35Sambar a Ruger 77Mk2 and jezze don't they hold onto the scope and rifle. I would recommend them to anybody that has a heavy scope or rifle that recoils sharply or with a lot of force.

I have them on my M77 Magnum .458 lott and a Hawkeye African .375 ruger and love them. Great items on an express style magazine rifle. Mine return to zero very well. Kind of amazing!

I use the QD's on my custom Mauser 9.3x62, a Chapuis double in 9.3x74 and a Brno 375H&H. All return to zero and are a pleasure to use.

I can only recommend them

Cheers

I also use the warne QD set up on my 9.3x57 M46 Husky. I like the idea of the use of irons if something happens to the scope. I have a low power leopold 2-7 . It keeps it light weight and fast.
I will likely use this set up on my .375HH when I decide to scope it.
