The Bell & Carlson stock for the CZ 550 safari magnum will fit on a BRNO ZKK 602?

Buster the ZKK600 will fit into a CZ550 long action stock with a bit of relief work here & there - especially around the front of the magazine well & action.
The front spacer between the action & bottom metal on the ZKK is a fair bit larger, but basically that's it.
I hope the 602 has a peep, they certainly were a great action & a terrific sighting system.

I used cast bullets in my .375 602 BRNO back in late 1973 when I started 3-position shooting. I used the peep with the bead front sight.
I made Sharpshooter, (one up from Marskman) with that combination, then built up a thumbhole match rifle in .308 in late 74 and made
Master in my first contest in the SFC. I still have those trophys. Those were the days when I could shoot.LOL

Which one between a brand new CZ 550 Safari Magnum 375 H&H and a used in but in very good condition ZKK 602 375 H&H is the better choice?

The older 602 is likely heavier, is very accurate and the magazine holds a full 5 rounds + one in the chamber.
Is it better than the new 550 Safari Magnum?
I don't know.

Here's a test with the CZ with factory ammo using Nosler 300gr. Partition from a non-weighted lead sled, it appeared.
Appears about 5/8" @ 100yds & with a low powered scope, so perhaps they shoot just as well as my 602 did.
I did shoot a friend's .375 602 a few years back, with factory Winchester 300gr. Silver Tips. That one did about 3/4"
with that old factory ammo. It chronographed 2,474fps. My own .375/06IMP(26"bl) shooting just after the 602, chronographed
2,472fps with 300gr. Sierra BT's and Norma 300gr. RN, both using 60gr. BLC2.

From what I can make out the ZK600 series and CZ550 series both shoot like stink, little if nothing between them.

From what people that have both or used both tell me the 600 series is the better made.

The CZ550 375H&H I had held 5 down. The 416 Rigby I have holds 4 down, yet a mates only held 3 down. They make 3 different mags for the magnums. I have seen 2 different types labeled 458 and 375H&H.

One is just a rectangular box, the second type is a rectangular box with square dimples pressed into it towards the front. Presumably to stop bullet tips hitting front of mag under recoil. The 3rd is heavier gauge steel front end has large V shaped dimples for recoil and would hold 3 416 Rigby down. You might get 4 375H&H down.

Rule303 - that is interesting. Mine was originally a .358 Norma which I converted to .375H&H in early 1974 with an unfired 602 .375 bl. I bought from Ian Dingwall, a gunsmith in Richmond BC. The barrel came off a BRNO .375 H&H 602 that was purchased simply to convert to .505 Barnes Supreme. I fired that one - spun me around like a weathercock. 125gr. IMR3031 and a 600gr. Barnes, seems to me was the load @ 2,700fps, IIRC. That would make about 9,700fpe from an 8 1/2, maybe 9lb. pound rifle. That was a long time ago.
I'm pretty sure my .375H&H held 5 down, same as when it was .358 Norma.

If the condition warrants and the price is reasonable, my particular preference would be the ZKK, just because I have a love of classic models, but I can't give you an objective comparison between the CZ and the ZKK. However, our good friend Joel Dorleac weighed in with his opinion in a post from 4 years ago:

Bear in mind, of course, that Joel's standard of what is an acceptable "working rifle" is likely to be rather higher than most of the rest of us!
