Good Morning Vietnam (Tiger Stripe)
      #325196 - 26/02/19 10:44 AM

So I shipped this monster (Barrett M82A1) back to its owner today, it’s the biggest Cerakote job we’ve done so far. It turned out really nice, we put a lot of time into editing the stench le to get it to come out this clean. Colors used were Graphite Black, OD Green, Athlon Brown (Custom mix to match the Athlon scope) and Mud Brown.

agreed... need to reselect the pic size when posting perhaps.. definitely don't need my readers..

That's a great looking job..

What is the typical cost, if there is a "typical cost" to cerakote a barrel and action on a rifle??

Sorry for the size, I linked to the photos in my website gallery. I guess I’ll need to stop attaching photos until there is a good way to host reduced size image files.

Ripp,

The pricing to do a barreled action starts at $200 for a single color and goes up from there as you add colors and other detail like custom graphics.

G'Day Fella's,

Sharps Nitro, thats a nice job there mate.
I have only ever done single colour Cerakote jobs, but some times, I do a spray over contrasting lines, on the stock.
I can imagine the amount work required, with the multiple colours and stencils but it looks great.

Thanks Homer. The stencils do take a lot of manual manipulation to get them to produce a good result. Once you do that it’s not too bad. Now I can use this pattern anytime for any application without a lot of work.

SIZE does matter..

That's a very reasonable price...
I had it done to my stainless Sako in 375H&H before heading to Cameroon a couple years ago..really like it ..reduces shine/glare while hunting and very protective..

Finished up the little brother to the Barrett for the same customer, it’s a Marlin 1895 in 45-70. Not sure whether to call it Tadzilla or Mini Me.

Not at all John, I’m trying to figure out the appropriate resolution to post graphics here and any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the compliment, both the Barrett (Fodzilla) and it’s little brother he Marlin (Tadzilla) turned out really nice and I wanted to share them. The Marlin is a better match for this site though.

If I used my raw photo files or even the standard photo size my camera produces - my camera is set to create a raw file and also a large jpeg image at the same time - I think even for the jpeg the image size would be about 30 times the screen size of the forums!

I use an easy image resizing s/w, but here is a very simple and easy to use online resource.

http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=296683&an=0&page=0#Post296683

Quote:

http://www.photosize.com/

A webpage offering free photo resizing. Very large photos distort the forums so a photo or image of approximately 1024 pixels or less wide is advisable.

NE recommends LANDSCAPE images be resized to no more than 1024 pixels in width.

PORTRAIT photos should have a width of less than 1024 as the height of the image will need a lot of scrolling depending on the resultant image height. NE recommends approximately 600 pixels for a PORTRAIT image. Depending on its height.

The webpage works by allowing you to select an oversize image, select its new width in pixels, and then the image to downloaded to your PC. You then need to upload the smaller image to a web image hosting site or other net account.

Eventually we wil;l have a new s/w platform which allows uploads of photos and also possibly auotmatice (maximum) resizing of images displayed. No doubt the new s/w will also gets lots of complaints for all sorts of other reasons though ...

Sharpsnitro, thanks for posting your photos. The ceroaking (splg) looks very cool.

G'Day Fella's,

Again SharpesNitro, thats another really nice job, well done!

Can I please ask, what is the Cerakote colour, you have applied to the Marlin's metal work?

Homer,

The color is a custom mix I did to try and match the brown anodizing on the customers Athlon scope. The mix is made using Burnt Bronze and Barrett Bronze.

Thanks.

I’ll be on the road next week getting my Cerakote Certification. When I get home I’ll be redoing my 300BO SBR in this pattern. I’ll be using a different brown for this one as I don’t want the metallic content. I’m going to try Glock FDE first since that’s pretty dark and if it doesn’t work I may have to try Barrett Bronze. It’s odd, the light tan color in this pattern is Mud Brown which usually looks much darker.

So here are a couple more jobs we just finished up in Tiger Stripe.

Edit: Seems Instagram links don’t work, I’ll have to upload pics to my website and link those. Yes, I’ll make sure they are not full size.

I think I can get them reposted but I’m not seeing the edit button anymore.

Edit: Strange, this post is the only one of mine in this thread the Edit button appears for.

Trying to link from another gallery as a test(this works, linking to the Cerakote gallery):

Okay, now that I’ve got a working method to link pictures that are not gigantic here is the newest Tiger Stripe job. This one was an AR that a friends shop took in used that had a rattlecan paint job done on it. I stripped it and refinished it.
