Weatherby Mark V Custom Grade price check.

I just received an email from a gun store in my area and they have a Weatherby Mark V Custom Grade with a muzzle brake in 460 weatherby mag, the gun is supposed to be in excellent shape, the price is not cheap $1995 + taxes, what's the average price for a rifle like that?

The 460 comes standard from the custom shot, They are selected barrelled actions.

That price seems very reasonable. The gun sounds second hand but even so I think the price is good.

However, I am posting from the Australian perspective. You might check with another gun shop what a new 460 costs. My guess would be $3000 US plus.

My local gun store has sold and had sold back to them a 460 Weatherby three times. The original owner bought 5 boxes of ammo and the last time 3 full bases where sold with the gun. Believe he sold it used ( twice) for $2,000. The last time he bought it back for $1,200. I looked at it both times and thought it was a bargain at $2,000 but I just never pulled the trigger so to speak.
