Okay. Cool!

Now tell us more about tha 4 bore please? Is it smooth or rifled and what were you shooting??? (Grain, composition etc)?

It does look way fun!

How accurate and do the barrels shoot to point of aim at 50 yards or less?

Yogi

SK's rifle uses rifled bores and fires regular lead/ copper jacketed bullets weighing in at a "modest" 2000 grains, I do not knoww for certain but I think the load may be a smokeless powder , possibly Blue Dot of over 100 grains

Safarikid will I am sure be along shortly to tell you more about the rifle i n question, save to say it is heavy at around 26lbs with 22" barrels, it has just been used in African and made some rather large holes in a Buffalo or two, the pictures have been hosted on either this or the AR forum along with the end results of a 900 grain .600" bullet from the Overkill cartridge.

yogi,
Ken loads these monsters with 112-118 grains of blue dot and gets around 1450-1500 ft/sec.

Interesting. Very.

I really like the fact they are rifled bores.

But I am confused: First I read it is a 4 bore throwing 2000 grain boolitz, then it's a 900 grain, .600 diameter boolit.

I don't understand how a 4 bore would throw something that small in diameter.

Very interested in getting the answers to these enigmas.

(And, I sure did enjoy seeing that video, again). (And again).

Great to have a forum on the net where big bore doubles is the center of attention! Great Place here!!

Yogi

I think you may have misunderstood my mail.

The Owens 4 bore fires an approx 1 inch diameter 2000 grain jacketed bullet of either soft nosed or solid nosed construction.

The pictures posted on the forum to which I referred also show a recovered 900 grain Woodleigh Weldcore bullet fired from a cartridge called the .600 Overkill designed by Dr. Rob Garnick. This is a magazine rifle firing the 900 grain bullet at upto 2400 fps and is a separate gun to the 4 bore, the pictures of both recovered bullets were both posted on the same post as both guns are owned by Safarikid who posted the pictures to keep us gun nuts thirsty for large calibre rifles satisfied.

hope This makes sense.
