100+lbs tusked Ele from Moz
      #171088 - 07/11/10 09:35 PM

Here is an email sent from Jumbo Moore begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting of www.kambakosafaris.com to me today about an 100 pounder that one of his clients has just taken.
Hi Adam ,

Just to let you know that Senoir Jumbo has come out of elephant hunting retirement in fashion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3 days ago at 11.20am my Argentian client took this bull.

63" sticking out and 21.5" at the lip. It holds it weight pretty well to the end. The ele was shot whilst resting under a tree with its ivory on the ground!

Now we wait to see what it weighs out at. Any guess????????

PS. There was another bull in the group of 8 with identical tusks. Another bull with slightly longer tusks but thinner and then a single tusker (RHS) which was a bit thinner but at least 1 to 1.5 foot longer. This was an incredible sight, there must have been over 700 lbs of ivory in this group of 8 bulls.

Left Tusk at 104lbs with nerve a massive 59" long.
Right Tusk at just over 100lbs with a 53" nerve.

Adam

What a wonderful trophy for the lucky hunter.

Can they get the ivory home as well? Hopefully.

Yes, as you know there's only a few places that don't completely follow the CITES rules.
Would love to have been there...

I can give you grid for the centre of the block, but you have one million acres around you, plus this area is only a small portion of this wilderness area. I think the reserve it self is around the size of Wales plus you can quadruple that with the surrounding bushland outside the reserve.
It is a bit like a needle in a haystack but if you find water (particularly later in the season) then you will find game.

Thx Adam. I was really only tongue in cheek but a grid would be good. I'd love to cruise the area with Google Earth. Living vicariously is all I can do at the moment.

John,
Check out; 12'00'14.20"S
38'24'18.10"E
This is the position of the "Spanish Fly Camp". The river joining the Lugenda river just down streem is a great watershed for hunting.
Shot my last Lion about five klms south of this camp on a flood plain.
