Dallas Safari Club Convention 2013

Once again we had a great time at the Dallas Safari Club Convention. Sure, lots of it is the same every year, but it provides a nice Africa fix between trips. I picked up a couple of books I wanted, including the Amwell Press' Hunting the African Lion. Now all I need is the Leopard issue.

Alicia and the girls went shopping. Check out Red Riding Hood.

With Clive Hallamore whom we met this past Summer when we were in Zimbabwe.

The whole family with Richard and Belinda Cooke.

Check out this carved wooden bear.

Its a gun safe. They also make one that's a bar.

Marty Wood with HHK introduced us to Lou Hallamore and he signed a copy of Chui for us. Both are very fine gentleman and we had a nice visit.

This was a bit of what I thought to be some pretty ingenious marketing, and based on this logic, we booked for buffalo again, this time in Mozambique. 2016 seems like a long way away, but I know it will go quick.

Cazadero - I'd love to get over there for show season one year, looks like days of adventure in the city. Ours is short a sweet but I guess that's just a function of the market. There are definitely not enough African outfitter making it down under, I think there were 2 last year? But I think I'll go anywhere as its a nice weekend away.

Your 2016 buff hunt will come soon enough. I booked a CAR safari early in 2011 for the 2015 season, and with hardly much thought to it other than watching the progress of Kony's LRA and then the current rebel incursion on Bangui, it's 2013 already. It'll come. Lets home they all stay as calm and piece loving as us khaki-clad safari hunting enthusiasts!
