This is why we love British made rifles
      #332232 - 12/09/19 07:42 AM

WTF!!!!

It seems that the L&O group are trying to outdo themselves with the development of hideous looking guns.

https://www.sauer.de/en/sauer-world/fendt-themenwaffe/

Who the hell would want to be seen in the field or at the range with one of these.

The tractor looks tough as hell, the gun looks like a POS.

Matt.

The rifles shown at the bottom of the page are OK.
The green/black rifle is horrid, to my eyes.
The John Deer/Sauer cross toy tractor, well, I'm not
much into that stuff these days.

Hideous.......WTF?

That rifle and the tractor look like Sauer hired a Japanese Anime artist to design them.

Those rifles may be ugly to our eyes (mine included) but if it gets the younger generation shooting than I hope they make millions of them.

A lot of truth in that.
I guess they have to cater to the market and if that's what the market demands, well...

That's sad.

Matt,

That is one ugly rifle. First RPeck's ugly Blaser Drift wood rifle and now the plastic tractor rifle! We need to start a competition on who can find the ugliest rifle.

Common theme, is the L&O group and Blaser and Sauer rifles.

BTW is that rifle a one off for auction? Or a rifle available if you buy a tractor?

Maybe I need to design a Case Rifle, red and black. I do have a toy model Case frontend loader as well. Given to me by the dealer, my brother-in-law for my 50th birthday. Sits on my desk.

Ha ha, a red and black tractor, uglier than green black and orange. If that is possible.

Also does L&O now own the Fendi tractor company?

***

As for the British rifles, oh for the days when you might get a Range Rover anmd a Purdey, was it? Or a H&H. A classic Jaguar and a Rigby perhaps.

Plastic rifles? Out of a couple dozenm, I think I have two. One of my Mauser M03's, a Extreme version with a green stock. And a restocked Swedish Mauser M96 wiht a black sporting stock. To replace the original cut back military stock.

Walnut is so much better. Except maybe in some extreme environments.

Well if they gave me that rifle, only way I would have it, it would be off to be completely ceracoted.

I could use that tractor though. Does it have a frontend PTO drive? Except that tractor is a little big for me, 110 HP is my guess?

Does it have a sun roof as well. My Case does, I planned to use it as a shooting hatch, but it unhatching the slide bar (whatever they are called) which holds it open is a nuisance. They need to make these tractors more shooter accessible! My old open tractor, was easy to shoot rabbits, hares and foxes from. The closed cab tractor, I have hardly shot anything from.

Yes - that percentage is about right around here, too. Thinking back over the last few weeks, I was the only one there with walnut stocked rifles every time.
Except when Taylor and I were there with our Sharps and medium bore CF's - all walnut.

Don't know, but there are hydraulic connections all over.

Are you kidding? The Fendt 1050 tractor is listed at 380 KW, that's about 510 HP. Of course, there are computers, gps Systems, tv and air conditioning. Most likely they forgot about the need for shooting foxes or wild boar from the cabin. You cannot have everything!

Think we might have to write to them to make an Aussie model with shoot from ability

Then WAY too big. I'll leave it for all the 'huge broad acre' German farms then.

"Ugliest Rifle --- any AR loaded with rails and lights and scopes."

DoubleD, I'd say you have a close runner-up, but not the winner.

The winner just may be an AK47 just as issued, a French Gras, or a Mosin Nagant.

The difference is, rifles like the AR15 look like the way they are meant to. That ugly Sauer looks completely out of "character".

Have to resize the image. But I think the white glaring branding on the butt is a "nice" touch ... not to mention that fluorescent orange bolt knob.

Now what sort of gross scope is suitbale for this rifle? Perhaps a 80 mm wide German scope bigger and longer than the rfle itself?

The tractor fender front is also a really "nice" touch.

Does the "ribbed" cheek piece go on both sides? Nice. Should be really pleasant on the cheek under recoil!

A bit like a fungus?

I reckon they missed a video opportunity. Here they ar shooting a Euro coin off a Fendi tractor model.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=25&v=lgPIjcmK9VY

How about a video of a Fendi tractor driving OVER the Sauer rifle?! That would be a video to see!

I have invested heavily in British made guns. I am happy to have done this. It is a great sorrow of mine that the British influence in hunting grounds worldwide has declined.

If you have a look at many of L&O's rifles, Blaser, Sauer, Mauser, they have models not much less garish than this tractor model with bright green plastic stocks and orange panels.

Other than Rigby where Marc and co, provide a quality input and standard, I think these other companies are all run by accountants.

Had another look at Mausers lacklustre offering of any choice in calibre, chambering, barrel length etc. Any real choice other than the bland, is now missing.
