I saw this old cock bird perched near a rabbit warren and snapped a few off.The pair were in the same perch a few days earlier but at a long range. He is in the moult, hence the ragged look.
I got a few of the humble rabbit as well.There were a dozen of them on the burrow.

Don't see many wedgetail eagles here now. There used to be a nest in the hills still, but I think it is now abandoned. For many years. Poisoning of seed to kill galahs and other birds, leads to the poisoning of the wedgetails. I know someone who has a taxidermied wedgetail found poisoned in this way. No they didn't put any poison out just found the eagle in a reasonably fresh state during harvest time.
