test

This is one of my combos that I love dearly.
It is very Germanic and balances perfectly. The trigger guard and underlever are are wonderful and perfect carvings of horn. Trap buttplate. Case color receiver. Minor border engraving. All business when it comes to a hunting rifle. 16ga x 9.5X56R (11.17 Mauser case as base).
All nitro proof. I believe this was built about 1904. Perfect bores. Folding tang sight. Double leaf mid sight.
This is my first photo post. More to come on different subjects.

These are a few more of my Neumeyer. I never could find very much concerning the maker. The proofs seem to indicate before 1905. The barrels are 26 inches. Both steel. Blacked finnish. The stock contains nice figure. The trigger for the rifled barrel is a single set. The tang sight is adjustable by some drifting tool that I must try to duplicate. The cartridge trap holds two rifle cartridges and one two shot shells. Chambers are 2.5" (65mm). When I bought the gun, the trap contained one original cartridge that the owner thought was some sort of rivet or marking. A cast of the chamger shows this is the actual casing. The case had a missfired primer. Well diveted. I pulled it apart and found a 196 grain cast bullet, lubed, with a charge of 42 grains of a smokeless flake powder. Square flakes.
There is a carved notch on the bottom of the wrist just behind the horn pistol grip. I assume this is to comemorate the taking of game, or poucher. Who knows.
I hope you enjoy the photos.

Thanks,
I am working on making the cases. I have had it for a few years, but have had little time. I see it as a perfect deer and boar gun. About the same as a .375 express or .38/56 Win. on one side and a .62 call ball on the other. I have a couple of cases almost ready for fireforming to send for forming dies to be made.

88,
Very nice buchsenflinte! What part of Germany was it made in? Mine is marked Hanover and is chambered 10.25x60R(fluid steel barrel) & 12 ga (Damascuss). These things are just so cool!

M4220:
This one is marked Fleising. Franz Neumeyer does not seem to come up often, but there was a Metallwek Neumeyer that built rifles, etc. during WWII.
It is a wonderfully balanced gun and comes to shoulder like a good shotgun. It appears ackward but is light and fast to handle. I will have reports on shooting it soon, I hope.
Thanks,
