Would be nice if we had a photo column just for singles shots like we have for Mausers and SXS...what you reckon NitroX?.... is that something thats easily done?

I saw and handled that very rifle day before yesterday. It is every bit as fine as it looks, but handling it and seeing it from all angles makes it even more desirable. Absolutely an exquisite piece.
Morris detached the barrel for me and the machining and fitting are excellent.
Personally, I have no desire for a .470, but it would be difficult to find fault with the rifle.

I have a 'full blooded' (i.e. built and delivered by Martini and Hagan) in 300 H&H. The Hagan dropblock action is, IMHO, the absolute top of the line in single shot rifles. The metal and wood to metal fit and finish on mine, to say nothing of a simply incredible piece of wood, is what one would expect from the finest in custom rifles. Given their prices, and their relatively short wait compared to other custom builders, if you want a single shot, go Martini and Hagan.

My only hesitation as to the 470 Morris has at his site would be as to potential recoil. Just a tad over 8 pounds would make for a VERY lively wack from a 470. My 470 DR weighs a tad over 10. I find it easy to shot, but chop off two pounds and it might dent the shoulder a tad. If this rifle was a pound or so heavier, I'd be very tempted. Dave

Sweet gun! The thing to do here IMHO is to have a second barrel made and fitted in 375H&H and have the best of both worlds as a combo takedown set. I have a pre-war Rigby boxlock in 470NE, and at 8.2 pounds the recoil is nominal.
