Grand Slam

I readed something about it sometime ago, but I don't know too much about it.

The "Grand Slam" is only for Rams and there is the "Ultimate Grand Slam" too, which include all North American game. That's it??? Anyone had done it sometime??? Any story or curious thing about it???

I think according to the Safari Club Int.a member has to shoot a certain no. of specified animals all over the world.We have had a few hunters here who wanted to shoot a horned sheep (GUDH) to qualify for the grand slam.One of these hunters then proceeded to Mangolia to shoot an animal there(i don't recall which one).

The NA Grandslam is

Dall Sheep............Alaska/Yukon
Stone Sheep...........Yukon/ N. British Columbia
Rocky Mt Big Horn.....Rocky Mts. New Mexico to Alberta
Desert Big Horn.......Southwest and N. West Mexico

There is a fifth, the California Big Horn, which is recognized by some and not by others. It is a small Rocky Mountain Bighorn and lives in the Coast Mountains of B C and the US West Coast.

The Super Slam is an SCI invention to give more animals for the Record Book. It contains all of the Sheep in NA and Asia. About 25 different ones I think.

Bob Peterson has taken perhaps more than any human, he used to buy every tag he could each year for decades. Said it was his favorite trophy's.

Dall Sheep can also be found in the Northwest Territories, in the Mackenzie Mountains.

Prefer a nice Markor or Persian Ibex hunt over Sheep. Prices for a nice Sheep are hard to fathom.
