2 new arrivals from England last week.

Since I'm lazy I'll just post the descriptions that I was given as they are accurate.

6.5MM 'MODEL 1903' TAKE-DOWN BOLT-MAGAZINE SPORTING RIFLE, serial no. 19665, 22 1/4in. nitro barrel, open rear sights removed, ramp-mounted bead foresight, the receiver mounted with a Gerard telescopic sight in quickly-detachable mounts (with leather telescopic sight case), detachable box magazine, bolt with folding adjustable peep sight, figured three-quarter pistolgrip stock with 14in. pull, cheekpiece, pistolgrip-cap, sling eyes and steel buttplate (with trap)

6.5X54MM MANNLICHER SCHOENAUER 'MODEL 1900' BOLT-MAGAZINE SPORTING RIFLE, serial no. B4011 / B3454,
24 7/8in. nitro reproved (in 2010) replacement barrel with block-mounted open sights and folding leaf sights for 200 and 300 yards, block mounted bead foresight with flip-up moonsight (missing inlay), receiver ring engraved 'MODELL 1900', receiver engraved 'STEYR 1901', detachable rotary box magazine, the hand mounted with an adjustable folding peep sight, half-stock with chequered fore-end and pistolgrip, 14 1/2in. pull, steel pistolgrip-cap and buttplate with traps, sling eyes, gold escutcheon engraved with the letter 'B' surmounted by the coronet of a Baron

I've loaded some rounds today and will head to the range tomorrow. I'm going to keep one and sell/trade the other once I decide which I'll keep. I've never seen a takedown quite like the 1900. The forearm must be unscrewed and removed and the front action screw must be backed out about 3 turns before the barrel unscrews. Awkward and time consuming, plus you must have two different size screwdrivers to do it. I thought the whole idea of "takedown" was no tools and easy to do.
